Die DIAMETRALE beschenkte alle Cinephile, Soundeskapist*innen und all die anderen FilmFabelFiguren da draußen mit einem wunderbar-kuriosen Bewegtbildkaleidoskop und psychedelischen Klangexperimenten. Als einzigartiges Filmfestival für Experimentelles und Komisches präsentierten wir abseitigeLeinwandschmankerln, die per One-Way-Ticket nach Absurdistan führten.

The ones that stink of dirty basements, full of brain damaged freaks; the ones with endless road trips, clumsy friendships and the difficulties of living together. All of them sprinkled with the 'Baby Bamboo', that magical pipe which brings the promise of psychedelic journeys.

Die Protagonisten von SPIT'N'SPLIT drängt es von der Leinwand auf die Bühne der p.m.k. THEEXPERIMENTAL TROPIC BLUES BAND spielen jenseits von Pose und Täuschung mit wilder Liebezu glänzend-chaotischem Sound und unterwerfen das Publikum und sich selbst dem UrmonsterMusik.
No pose or pretense, no calculation nor show… The Experimental Tropic Blues Band plays wild honesty: a violent love shamelessly unveiled, a splendid and chaotic sound mastered with style. TETBB lives its music as a journey, as a trance or an altered condition. This vision, this way of apprehending the sound, this musical instinct, trigger some intense live shows that devote themselves into a distorted sound fireworks.
Music is approached without any obstacles. The trio likes to mix disciplines and create surprising concepts: an album recorded in New York by Jon Spencer, a tribute to their homeland with “The Belgians” and recently “Spit’n’Split”, a movie directed by Jérôme VDW whose original soundtrack also happens to be their new record.
Never before had The Experimental Tropic Blues Band carried so well the “experimental” part of its name.
