9.11.2018 Konzert: Zan Lyons und Lissie Rettenwander, Performance Barbis Ruder

Ein Konzertabend in der p.m.k. in Innsbruck, mit Lissie Rettenwander und Zan Lyons.
Zusätzlich gab es eine Performance Künstlerin: Barbis Ruder, die in diesem Jahr auch auf dem renommierten donaufestival aufgetreten ist. Beide waren beim HEART OF NOISE FESTIVAL 2018 zu Gast: Zan Lyons als Visual Artist Unterstützung von Alec Empire - Lissi Rettenwander mit ihrem Konzert in der Straßenbahn - bei der TRAMatic Ride - in die Innsbrucker Umgebung. Zan Lyons war an diesem Abend als Musikact in der p.m.k., 2012 war er bereits als Supportact der Fuck Buttons bei uns. Wir erlebten zwei außergewöhnliche MusikerInnen und hatten einen experimenellen und virtuosen Konzertabend.

one of the most distinctive audio/visual performers to date, violinist, producer and film-maker zan lyons’ stunning shows have received critical acclaim across the globe. explosive beats collide with melancholic concertos. using his laptop and custom foot pedals, zan loops his violin, voice and sounds - while manipulating his haunting visuals - to incredible effect. zan’s film making process retains the organic approach established by his music. a one man army, zan directs, shoots, edits, and lights all of his films himself as well as doing all of the complex animation and visual effects work. The result is hypnotic and otherworldly, bringing a truly cinematic vision to the audio/visual world. his films have quickly earned zan high profile recognition with nominations from lux and the london short film festival and screenings on mtv2 as well as the cannes, onedotzero and raindance film festivals. recently, zan has performed with the likes of battles and chris clark as well as collaborating with warp records’ leila and embarking on a european tour with fuck buttons. impressed by lyons’ unique audio/visual outlook, the UK’s latitude festival invited zan to remix ridley scott’s blade runner. this ever-evolving live re-imagining of scott’s classic sees lyons cut up scenes from the film-splicing in his own work in the process and replacing the soundtrack with his own score.‘zan lyons vs blade runner’ has since been performed at berlin’s berghain and the UK’s leeds festival and queensland gallery of modern art not confined to solo work, in 2009 zan was appointed musical director on darren johnston’s underdrome, a 360 multimedia spectacle at london’s roundhouse. zan co-ordinated a 100 piece choir and a string octet all consolidated with a live 5.1 mix by lyons’ himself. lyons frequently collaborates with alec empire and performs live visuals for atari teenage riot and empire’s ‘low on ice’ show zan is currently working on a new under-wraps long form audio visual project existing between music and feature film. the final work will soon be revealed.

LISSIE RETTENWANDER (Zither, Elektronik, Stimme)
Lissie Rettenwander lässt sich kompromisslos auf die Gratwanderung zwischen Tradition und Avantgarde ein. Sie navigiert dabei ihre Klänge durch alle Genres und Zeiten und wühlt vorbehaltlos in einem Fundus, der sich von Volksmusik bis hin zu Noise und Neuer Musik erstreckt.

Binge-Dating. Barbis Ruder mischt ihren Körper mit Themen wie Wirtschaft, Arbeit, Intimität und Konvention in komplexen Kompositionen. Sie schafft als bildende Künstlerin sowohl Werke für den Ausstellungsraum, wie auch für die Bühne. Ihre Performances setzt sie so in einen Bezug zu den unterschiedlichen Medien und Formen: vom Körper hin zu bewegtem Bild, Sound, Skulptur und Installation im Raum.

"The Blessed" - an all star, all female band who mix influences coming from THE EX, NOMEANSNO with Polish folk. Folk and contemporary. Present-day as ever before. About women's concerns and what afflicts them. Community experiences, rebellion through generations, powers, infirmities, plucking feathers, clubs and frolic. New meanings at the intersections. Besoms, feminists, mothers and singles, chicks and witches, a maid from a forest, a hoarse cuckoo - the ones from the nineteenth century village, the ones from concrete estates - together! They should be praised! We play lyrically and romantically but also angrily and blackly. Rock, groove, cook, trance, psycho, swing mixed together.
